Summer’18 Lightning Experience- Let’s take a look.

Salesforce is out with summer’18 release and has bring with it the storehouse of all the new and interesting features that soon is going to be seen in the sandbox.  Developers have switched to Lightning Experience and now it will be more flexible, more personalization thereby increasing the automation of the overall Salesforce lightning.

We are going to list some of the renewed features which are going to be incorporated with the release of summer’18.

  • There is new URL format for Salesforce Lightning Experience by making it easier, understandable and shorter thereby enhancing the customer’s experience.
  • The object level searching has been improved for better outputs and adding filters for all the objects namely opportunities, contacts and leads.
  • Salesforce has made it less challenging for the users to navigate the lightning apps by providing an enhanced user interface. The users can further adjust the order by dragging the items around the navigation bar.
  • The theme can be customized by using the cropping and resizing tool to select the image which is to be used. The complete look of the image can be resized and the color of the image can also be modified.
  • Salesforce Surveys permits users to create accurate surveys that collect data precisely according to the needs. 
  • The detailed list view filter criteria is now available in Salesforce Lightning which eliminates the need to switch to classic and workflow can be created.
  • Summer’18 has reduced the need for the setup i.e. inline editing and filtering logic has been merged which has made the list views more dominant.
  • The editing of a picklist or checkbox on a record details page has now become easier to view and update all the controlling fields.
  • Topics on records in Lightning Experience can be included by adding topics component to record pages. In lightning, topics are enabled automatically for all the standard objects.
  • The lightning guided engagement along with console app can be enhanced and customized with lightning console JavaScript APIs. The console users can share links to their respective workspace.
  • All users are given the access by default when Cisco Spark or WebEx for Salesforce is turned on.
  • The feature of giving private feedback is introduced without choosing explicitly the contact information.

These are some of the important enhancements in Lightning Experience that have come in with summer’18 and the sandboxes will be updated with the changes soon.
