| | | | Migration of Legacy Delphi Application | Background Our client, a software product development company, partnered with us to migrate the legacy Delphi application to C# using VS.Net 2003. The application involved connecting the user community to deliver intuitive web-based solution. They had a software application written in Borland Delphi 7. As various parts were added to this program over time, it became an un-maintainable piece of code, a collection of programming “bandages”. Added to this were questionable original design features. Lack of general availability of Delphi programmers on the market created a doubly dangerous situation to a core program that was of high importance to our client´s customers. The company was looking for a vendor who could upgrade the application to a better technology. | | | Solution Our consultants discussed the business challenges with the customer. They identified critical business functions and interdependencies, developed risk-mitigation recommendations, and then designed high-availability strategies to support the project. We together made the decision to migrate to .NET platform. And we provided technical and project management support at every step of the way. The company benefited significantly by our approach to re-engineer their software in .NET application without significant time commitment from the core team.
